Wedding Destinations: Belize
Description of Belize
Belize is a tiny English-speaking country on the east coast of
Central America. It was known as British Honduras for years. It
is geared more towards the diver, ecotourist or adventurer. The
185 miles long barrier reef is the longest coral reef in the Western
Hemisphere. This makes it a dream for divers and explorers. Or for
those wanting a nontraditional underwater destination wedding. Belize has several destination wedding resots, destination wedding hotels and the perfect place for a Belize wedding.
Much of the interior is still tropical rain forest, mangrove swamp,
or protected jungle wilderness concealing jaguars, manatees, monkeys
and more than 500 species of birds. Ambergris Caye is the most visited
area of the country. Just off the northern shore, it has 28 miles
of coconut palms and white sand beaches not unlike the South Pacific
islands.
If you envision something unique for your destination wedding or
honeymoon, Belize is the place for you. Destination weddings are
easy in Belize whether it be at a Mayan ceremonial site, beautiful
garden or your own barefoot beach.
